The Texas Conference Adventist Community Services Depot services all

Oklahoma and part of New Mexico.
What process does clothing go through?
When clothes are recieved from individuals or a company, the clothes
are fixed if any buttons are missing or any other tayloring problems,
then they are washed and dried, and matched with other clothes to make
a complete change of clothes. That set is then put in a shrink rap and
sealed then sorted by size in our warehouse.
We have two 48 foot semi trailors that are rigged for clothing distribution.
We can cloth approximatly 2000 people with each truck. These trucks
are used as a buffer from the time that we arrive on the scene until
we can set up a distribution center.
What does TAEC have to do with Adventist Community Services?
Well that is a good question. As you might have read on our main page,
there was over $2000 worth of cell phone bills during the 1996 flood
in Houston, TX. After that, alternate means of communication were sought
out, and found. What TAEC does is we go down with the first wave of
volunteers to serve in a communications aspect. We will set up a ham
station at each of the distribution locations and man our ham station
at our depot located in Keene, TX. Each distribution location will then
be able to talk to the other at no cost. At the main distribution location
we will set up a HF Radio and use digital communication to communicate
with our depot. Using Digitatl Communications Mode is more secure and
more reliable than using voice communication.
