Tuesday night on the Air is still a club SKED evening. Were using 3.617mHz +/- 30 kHz now as QRM was becoming a problem up the band. Listen on the above frequency between 1930 to 2000UTC. Tuesdays.

Paul will be giving his first talk at the Three Counties Club. Im sure it will be very entertaining as he is quite use to standing in front of somber faces and trying to keep tham awake.

Here is a short reminder of the subject and just be aware that Paul is an ardent CW QRP Dxer and has reached over the magic DXCC 100 confirmed contacts and has the QRP club award to show for it.

QRP is transmitting on the Amateur Radio Bands using low power. Usually QRP power is 5 watts or less when using CW or other digital modes, while 10 watts or less is generally considered QRP when operating on SSB.

There is a great sense of accomplishment when you make contacts, sometimes using very simple transmitters or transceivers, at QRP power levels

QRP can be used with virtually any mode. The new digital modes implemented through use of computer sound cards work very well using QRP power levels

DXCC
In recognition of the popularity of QRP, the ARRL has announced a new operating award--the QRP DXCC. The award is available to amateurs who have contacted at least 100 DXCC entities using 5 W output or less. Contacts made any time in the past will count, and no QSLs are required.

The QRP DXCC is a one-time award and is non-endorsable. You do not have to be an ARRL member to qualify.
