Where to look
Most recent updates 95-Apr-25.
Major FTP sites for amateur radio and related topics include:
A few others are worthy of mention, but either due to distance and/or bandwidth
considerations, should be used when other places don't have what you're looking
for.
Macintosh software
Some of this stuff isn't kept in the most obvious of places, so a guide is
helpful to find some of these things. One such list is in a less-than-obvious

n.b. If StuffIt Expander v3.0 seems to have trouble expanding
these, try running them through BinHex 4.0 separately.
- NET/Mac
(UCSD...2.3.49.sea.hqx,
oak.oakland.edu...2.3.51.sea.hqx)
lets you run packet radio using KA9Q's network software, including AX.25, TCP/IP,
NETROM and more.
- SoftKISS 1.8 (UCSD...sit.hqx,
oak.oakland.edu...sit.hqx)
is used with BayCOM and homebrew modems to act as a software TNC. The
<source
code is also available.
- IM_Mac_1.0b28e is a simple mailer
(oak.oakland.edu .../IM_Mac_1.0b28e.sea.hqx) to go along with NET/Mac.
Additionally, archie turned up a couple of interestings prospects,
but these things age quickly...
