DL7CX - Highlights

2000-2022:

DL7CX was my new callsign in April 1999.

With the foundation of our new clubstation DM7C in about 2010 we were more profesionell and successful.

In addition to the contest the summiting (GMA/SOTA) plays an important role in my hamradio live - here was an amazing moment - ZL1TM called in...I only had 5 watts!

https://youtu.be/BSSdbVRGsFg     pix was taken on the "ODX-QTH" .

Whenever possible, I tried to become a qrv in other countries as well: In 2019 a special highlight was the participation in the WPX SSB in Algeria under 7W7W in Bou Saada on the northern part of desert Sahara.

1980 - 1999:

My way to the AMATEUR RADIO

In the late 70's my grandpa Horst, he was a SWL in the 30's: DE2839U,

My GrandGrandPa Max "SWL"

he helped and supported my first steps in  BC and ELECTRONIC.
He was my inspiration for becomming a ham.

I started with CW under Y65QN's help in 1979.
Karl teached me with patience and gave me the chance to take part in many CW-Competitions in the old GDR.
After 2 years I had success and won the Youth-Championship in 1982 (GDR) in keying and listening...it was rd. 140 WpM.

In the same year I became a SWL and I was on air...
I got my amateur-licence 1986 and worked under Y65IN -
but sporadicly only in the Clubstation.

After the wall came down I got my own station with an old FT-277B with FD4 antenna. This was a good destruction from my dentistry study on the weekend. The old Y-Calls had to change in 1992 and I got DL1JBQ. I improved my setup with a FT920, 3 el Monobander for 10m and made Packet Radio in 1997.

I have built a 16m tower with a LP7 in 1999 and got a little bit more power....
after 300 DXCC with 100w. I have a big garden and a wide field to make this without trouble in TV and headache by the neighborhood....hihi I increased my rig step by step and so it was time to improve my call:

I had the possibility to chance into DL7CX for "better understanding" in PHONE in 1999....hihi....and it's working a lot better...  I work from 10m to 160m and take part in some contests.... My favorite modes are CW and SSB (80%), but also some digital modes are interesting.

In my vacation I try to be on air but not like a dx'petition just to have fun...

So I worked from various places.
