Update History

05/31/2004

• Mounted new Scorpion mud tires on rear rims along with 130mm brand new rear hubs. Welded the steering column bracket to the frame, put right rear fender back on. Fine tuned the carb adjustments.
• Did test drive in the back yard, had a hell of fun !!! Check this video clip (wmv). Took a couple of picture of 'ready to race' Oddy.
• Changed theme of my home page to a more modern style.

• Hello again ! You thought the project stalled ? Not at all. My digital camera died in November which is why I didn't take pictures in a long time. But now we're back on-line. Did a lot of work on the Oddy. Added air filter, removed rusty old battery mount, replaced rear tires, welded exhaust and muffler, finally found fitting tie rod bolts, replaced hand-starter, plus other stuff. 
• Added some interesting theory on engine types on the internet (in-line, V- and boxer types).

11/2003

• New aluminum fuel tank arrived and was installed in the Oddy.

10/11/2003

• Adjusted the carburetor properly. Put a temp fuel tank in the kart. Did a test drive. Added a sound file of the Oddy's engine running.

• Added quick and dirty HOW-TO adjust a carburetor

• New tires and hubs installed.
• New struts installed (see pictures at the bottom of the page).
• Seat temporarily installed (see first picture on Oddy main page)

• Engine shroud installed.
• Head lamps installed.
• Starter battery installed.

08/27/2003

• Completed parking brake repair. 
• Added image collection of our August party. Colleagues from the office were visiting us. Among them, two new couples that recently moved to the U.S. from Germany. Lot's of shop talk as you can image. ;-)

• Completed the fender paint job and put the fenders back on the vehicle. 

08/09/2003

• Finally had some time to continue the work on my Oddy. Did install new tie rods, aligned the wheels, checked the engine's pistons and cylinder walls for scars. Piston heads show some carbon build-up, but there are no signs of an issue within the head itself. Last but not least, I've installed the fenders unpainted to get an idea how the final product will look like. Paint job is forthcoming.
  
• Added new pictures of Sandra's garden project. Louis does play a role in this. ;-)
  

• Added image collection of our Summer 2003 garden party. We were hosting our friends from the neighborhood, colleagues, some German interns and resident engineers from the office.

• Was working on the ATV Saturday morning. I've painted the white stripes.

• Was working on the ATV Sunday morning. I finally started painting the sucker. Rewrote most of the Oddy pages and added some pictures here and there.

• Was working on the ATV half day. Foot tub's now repaired and painted. Also added some interesting information about intake systems and belt drive theory.
• Modified the structure of the homepage for former "other project" link. Now subbed to "Specials".

• Didn't have much time to work on the Oddy, nor did I have time to update the pages. I was on a sailing trip on the Baltic sea with friends. Boy, we had fun. After I came back, I've been working on the Oddy (suspension rebuilding). Added pictures (j-arms, struts). Check it out.
