NEWS

Has anyone from this group build made a QSO yet?

All kits and backordered and omitted parts have been shipped. I DON'T have anymore extra sets of matched Crystals or MV1662s left. Check the parts sources listed below if you are in need.

I included reference information in the kits from the original 2n2-40 group build, but don't want to confuse you. Our parts order was developed from the latest schematics. Use the included Excel list to inventory your parts. Also the layout will be a little different from the original due to the change in parts. I've converted them to Adobe PDF format.

I have started building, but it will be slow. The VFO works and the inclusion of TC3 helped adjustments significantly! I gotta think about the circuitry around the filter, with the LEDs... what do I want on the board and what do I want on the enclosure front pannel? Ok, will decide that later for now, on to the audio section. Click HERE to see my slow progress.

N1QO (then KB1ENS) did the hard work - THANKS John! Also, thanks to Kenyon Cox for helping reconcile the original BOM with the updated schematics. (Kenyon sent me wonderful EXCEL lists that my computer trashed - the mistakes were all mine. See his list, also in PDF format below.))

Credits and Thanks

Jim Kortge K8IQY is a real treasure for the QRP community, and very supportive of this effort. Thanks Jim.
Dennis WB0WAO matched all the crystals in the evil lab, and also donated resistors and diodes.
Brian KB9BVN donated the BNC connectors and, sadly, some sacrificial 2n2222's and LEDs for my experiments.
Pappa Diz W8DIZ gave us the toroids and some varactors half price. THANKS DIZ!
