1st Licensed December 1997, I was 1st introduced to contesting by KG0US and started casually contesting in 2000. I recognize that I enjoy the camaraderie associated with the contest community and began operating in a few Multi/Singles. In 2001, I competed in 26 Different contests including a trip to PJ2T with NW0L for the WAE SSB contest. I also began focusing on station improvement with toploaded160M verticals, phasing and the addition of a C4SXL. In 2002 I put up a 1/4 wave vertical on 160M and ran my 1st Multi/Multi from home. In 2003 I became a member of the Caribbean Contesting Consortium and teamed with NW0L and WB9Z for a #1 WORLD TITLE in the ARRL SSB from PJ2T.  Operated portable North Dakota w/ NW0L, W0ZAP and K0LW for the ARRL RTTY RoundUp, Selected Nitty Gritty RTTY team and contributed to #1 finish and All-Time team record in the NAQP. I enjoy all contests CW, SSB and RTTY and compete in as many I can given the time constraints of having a regular job and loving family. I also enjoy the yearly gather at Dayton where I've been able to meet many of the world's top operators and make numerous friends from around the USA and the world.
