An Arran sweater to keep out the cold
Will look neat on young or old.
A thirty-eight chest, but not to bother,
'Twill be tight on one and loose on another.
So come on folks ,buy a ticket
You might be on a winning wicket.

(this was attached to a sweater knitted and raffled for WARO funds)
Noelle was a loyal and generous supporter of Women's Amateur Radio in New Zealand and she will be greatly missed by our members.
To Arthur and family thank you for sharing her with us over the years.
When women members of Amateur Radio organisations worldwide communicate via written word they have a special way of signing off.

So,   Noelle, to you 33 and 88 from us all.

SILENT KEY:      Gwen Leslie ZL20I

Gwen ZL2OISadly we record the death of Gwen Leslie, ZL20I on May 25th. Gwen joined WARO in 1988 with the call sign ZL2NAD - our first novice member. She and OM George ZL2AXI were retired and lived in Foxton with their chihuahua dogs; they were keen gardeners and their QTH with the antennas and lovely garden was easy to find. Visitors were always welcome.

Gwen became ZL2UKG in 1990 and ZL20I in 1994 and was an active operator when she was elected Treasurer of WARO 1991 to 1994, a job she carried out meticulously in the days before computers.

She enjoyed meeting other amateurs at Horowhenua Branch, ZL2 get-togethers and NZART Conferences and was active on WARO Nets and Contests. Although Gwen has been in poor health over the last few years, she still enjoyed a weekly YL sked. She will be missed by us all. Our condolences to the Leslie Family.
