AWARD MANAGERS REPORT FOR 2002 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

At Conference in Auckland I was appointed the Awards Manager and Celia ZL1ALK handed over the huge box of awards that had been brought up from the previous Awards Manager Carolyn ZL2JP.
It was decided that the rules for some of the awards should be changed to allow people to earn them a little more quickly. Therefore the VHF award can now be made for contacts on repeaters and in nets and contests. The Mountain Buttercup Award has also been changed to allow application after 15 contacts rather than the former 30.
This has resulted in the following awards being made:

The other task this year has been the 40^th Anniversary Award which was held during the 2-17 March. The original Pania certificate was overprinted for this Award.

Once the new call book comes out hopefully there will be lots more applications for WARO awards.
I offer my services again as Awards Manager and I trust that all goes well for the WARO AGM in Nelson.

COLUMNIST REPORT 2002

Thanks for all those who contributed last year -1 have had a lot of items for the different issues but as usual more photos would be great. They can be returned to sender as required. Address changes are very slow at coming through and remembering that it is now 2 monthly issues some news can be a bit late or no longer topical if received a bit late. I have been doing the Break In column for 10 years now and I am still enjoying it so I am willing to continue if wanted.
