EXCELLENT HOMEMADE 5 ELEMENT YAGI ANTENNA FOR UHF (430 - 440 MHz)
- Cheap, lightweight and easy to made.
- Excellent performance, clean main diagram and very good Front/Back ratio.
- Gain = 10.65 dBi (8.5 dBd compared to dipole).
- Antenna has low Q with very low SWR across wide frequency range (covers entire UHF band 430-440 MHz).
Overall length from reflector (R) to last director (D3) is 590 mm
All elements are made from brass electrode for electric welding 2.6 mm diameter (can be also made of copper wire 6mm2 which is 2.6mm in diameter). Material can bi find in every hardware store
The boom is plastic pvc pipe for plumbing installations

There are many hobbyists who have built this excellent antenna and are very satisfied with the results. One of them is Bobi, Z33PB. He have built this antenna extending the range of his handhelt radio. He often goes to Baba mountain near his town Bitola, climbs to some of its peaks and work portable from there with his radio. He menaged to have more than 200 km long range QSO with his cheap handheld Baofeng radio using this antenna:
