DATV Gear

Here are some suggestions for gear to use to get on the air with digital video on our repeater.

Display that can handle HDMI Input (1080P or 720P)

A HDMI capable camera or PC to send your video (I use my laptop with OBS and the integrated webcam)

DATV (DVB-T) Transmitter (can transmit from 100MHz to 2.4GHz) - HiDes HV-320E

DATV (DVB-T) Receiver (can receive from 100Mhz to 2.4GHz) - HiDes HV-120

70cm Amplifier - Jim Andrews Model 70-9B (pdf) - Capable of 10 Watts for Digital signals

70cm antenna for transmit - in horizontal configuration, any good high gain yagi will work

23cm antenna for receiver - loop yagis work best - Directive Systems loop yagi page

low loss LMR 400 or 600 (Flex Variants are fine and easier to manage for tight turns) cabling for the 23cm receive antenna 1.2Ghz has high losses so keep your cabling short

DATV Settings

This section will contain recommended settings for the transmitters and receivers that we use.
