1. Ansoft SI 3D solves for partial inductances.
2. The solver uses the finite-element method, thus it includes
electro-magnetic interactions among all objects in the system. From this
prospective, the effects of the power and ground planes are included.

Subject: [SI-LIST] : inductance extracted by ansoft SI3D
Hi, all
I have some questions about Ansoft SI 3D.
1. The inductance extracted by Ansoft SI 3D is partial inductance or
loop inductance or it depends?
2.For a via through several power and ground planes, does the SI 3D
consider the effects of those planes when doing the extraction?
Thanks.
Ming
