Small Wonder Labs 20m QRP Tranceiver- Winter 2001

QRP is the Ham Radio term for "Reduce you power". For a long time Hams have appreciated people that talk around the world with no more than 5 watts. It is possible to do it. CW is the most popular QRP mode. It goes farther with less power. SSB is good but it gets distorted in the atmosphere very easy. Many hams build there own QRP tranceivers because they usually don't consist of many parts. There are also a lot of companies that make kits for hams to buy and build.

Below are some of the QRP rigs and antennas I have built. I just got into QRP so bare with me. Check this page frequently because I am always buying more stuff to build. I'm also building a lot of QRP antennas so check back soon.

This is my Small Wonder Labs SW20+. I built it in January & February. It took only about 10 hours. It is a great little rig. It's receiver is superb and I have gotten 599 reports from Australia. So the transmitter is great too. It puts out a maximum of 2.5 watts. If you think that is to much you can vary the power all the way down to 100mW. The wattmeter is on the left of the rig.
