T.R.A.S.H. Technical Info;
It takes a LOT of time, equipment, and $$$ to build a linked radio system!
The entire T.R.A.S.H. system is funded by Neil Addis W7FED, with the help of Mike Olson KB6JYF, and Sean KI5EWH
You can contribute also!
EACH T.R.A.S.H. RF site consists of;
1: a Receiver and a 100% duty-cycle Transmitter
(The Motorola SLR5700 commercial repeater we use at many sites, has both RX/TX units in a single 1U chassis)
We also use Motorola GR1225/RKR1225 repeaters
2: Duplexer (combines the receive and transmitter into a single antenna)
3: Receive BpBr filter
4: AC/DC Power supply (some sites also have DC battery/generator backup)
5: Repeater controller (the physical device between the receiver, transmitter and internet)
We use a raspberry-pi 4B-2G and a RA-25, (or a RTCM) for most sites
6: Internet connectivity (some of our sites utilize a 5ghz RF microwave link to get internet to the site)
7: Commercial grade antenna, feedline, Polyphaser impulse protector, grounding, etc
8: Back-end server for each node at our data center
9: Access to a site, leases and insurance
Also required: A 4x4 vehicle to access the sites in all weather conditions,
Time and funds to maintain the system, buy new equipment, bribes, beer, ammo, burritos, etc
It's a huge investment and a life-long passion that I freely offer to the amateur radio community - Neil Addis W7FED
