Welcome to
|
a summer outside Brevard, North Carolina
Thanks for the visit to our travel site.
We thought we would share a little of a super summer
in Western North Carolina mountains. We spent about
15 hours a week working in the Pisque Nation Forest
which allowed us to make at least two all day hikes
a week. This gave us a free camp site for the period.
This is prime trout fishing waters and super
hiking country. Enjoy the trip.

It is possible on some trails to hike all day long
and never have the hot summer North Carolina sun
hit you. As a large number of the tails wind all
around the 6,000 foot mountains under mountian
laurel, rhededendren, and other flora. Some of the
mountain side are covered in blue berries in season
where on one trip we picked two gallons with out
moving twentey feet total. Remember that every
thousand foot in elevation is 6 degrees cooler!
