About

First licensed about 1964 in KC MO as WN0GYF. Life interviened and I wasn't active again until about 1976 in Northern VA as KC3BM. In the 70's and 80's we mainly worked the repeaters. After a hiatas in the 90's and "ought's" became active again only a couple years ago. And I took my Dad's old call sign: W0MPM. I feel comfortable with this call. I first 'worked' the bands sitting on my Dad's lap as W0MPM so now it's come full circle. John Brown has been W0MPM since at least about 1954. Probagly 1952 and maybe towards 50. BTW, Dad was first licensed in occupied Okinawa as KR6BR.

Now I'm indulging myself to finaly develope the technical side of my brain. It's never too late - though it's absolutely more difficult to learn new things. With that in mind I've discovered and interest in all the old vintage stuff. Art Deco radio as I think of it. Getting the old equipment to work is a learning aid and fun. The project pages reflect my attempts to learn and make the old stuff work.
