My Standard came already equipped with Cobra floorboards front
and rear when I bought it. I initially was not at all happy with the front floorboards because
of the very tight fit to get my boot under the shift pedal when up-shifting. Over time I got
used to it and seldom even think about it any more, but it IS a tight fit. Z-CAJUN started a
thread on the VRCC tech board
about replacing his stock shifter with the shifter from a Honda CBR-1100-XX shifter, which gave him
more toe room with his Cobra floorboards. I liked the looks of his installation, so I ordered the
parts, and made the same mod to my Valk as well. The following pictures and sketches show the mod.
Part numbers for the mod are shown in
Z-CAJUN's original post. |

These three pictures are a bit busy, but they give
you a good idea of how tight a fit this is with my size 12 boots. In the middle picture note how high I have to lift my
heel to get my toe under the shifter. |

shifter installed. I do not have to lift my foot at all to slide it under the shifter. |
