STORM
SPOTTER CLASS
The NWS - LZK
WFO, in
conjunction with Diamond Lakes Area SKYWARN and the
Garland County Department of
Emergency Management, try to hold STORM SPOTTER classes at least every (2) years or
more frequent, if there is a large enough request.
These classes are important for Emergency
Service Personnel,
but are OPEN to ANYONE interested in severe weather
observations.
** JUST COMPLETED CLASS -
MARCH
24th, 2018 **
As
you are
well aware,
severe
weather season
in Arkansas
is already here.
Diamond
Lakes Area
SkyWam,
Inc.,
along
with our
partners,
wishes
to invite
YOU to
a storm
spotting
class. This
class
will be
held:
***TBD***
If there is enough interest, there may be
another class in the 1st part of 2019.
While
we can't
do anything
about property
damage from storms, maybe
we can
do
something
about storms
injuring people.
The key to this
effort is education.
Won't
you
join us
in learning more about
storms? Please
help us
serve the
public by being
the eyes in
the field
for the
National Weather
Service.
Our
partners are
the Garland
County
Department
of Emergency Management,
Hot Springs Convention Center and
the National
Weather Service.
The
class
will be
taught by
Joseph Goudsward, a SENIOR Forecaster
for the
National
Weather Service
in North
Little Rock.
While
this class
is FREE,
we
ask that
attendees call
the Garland County Department of Emergency Management at 501-767-3911
to notify of intent
to attend.
Check the NWS/LZK website for classes in other areas.
