Ham Radio

I don't think I need to give any info about this but, just for the sake of non-HAMS visiting this site:

Ham radio is a fascinating electronic hobby, practiced by thousands of hams around the globe. A ham is a licensed amateur radio operator, who communicates with a fellow ham, with the help of an instrument called transceiver, a DC 12V power supply and a simple copper wire antenna. All hams are given a code number, like VU3PPE, for their identity. Certain bands of frequency have been allotted to ham radio operators by International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In India, the hobby is less popular and quite expensive. Most of the hams are in Japan.

Some information about Ham Radio:
Hams are of great help during natural disasters. They set up mini radio stations in the affected areas. Where primary communication networks like telephone cables collapse. Contacts are established with hams, located in nearby cities to provide vital information needed for relief operations, at such times \of emergency. Since the wireless operation of ham radio doesn't require much infrastructural resources like cables etc, they can reach remote places and set up their stations. In the recent Orissa cyclones, hams volunteered in the relief operations. Some of the VIP hams in India include Sonia Gandhi, Rangarajan Kumaramangalam and film actor Kamal Hassan.

Computer Games

I don't think anybody needs any information about this....however I would like to tell you what kind of gamer I am.

Basically I am a strategy gamer, but also like adventure, racing, simulation. I don't really like action games, but some games like DOOM, QUAKE 2, WOLF and HALF-LIFE are exceptions. Also I hate arcade games except MARIO . And I have never played sports games in my life. My favorite games are ROLLER COASTER TYCOON, SPIDERMAN, QUAKE 2, TRANSPORT TYCOON and the AGE OF ... series. Although my all-time favorite is, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
