No state in India is more captivating than Kashmir. To the admirer of nature, it offers scenes of grandeur almost unrivaled. It is a place where people of great simplicity and firmness of character reside and where a poet or a painter can find scenes more reflective, to intensify their imagination. Possessing great beauty, history and charm, it treasures something for everyone.

The beauty of Kashmir surpasses all imagination and anticipation. It is indeed, not without reason that the Moguls called Kashmir the terrestrial paradise of the earth. It is one of the world's natural beauty spots, located at the crossroads of the ancient silk road, where the Moguls built their lakeside summer palaces to escape the heat of the plains.

Kashmir offers the most spectacular sceneries, owing to the breathtaking views of towering mountains, with their white peaks beautifully contrasting with the greens, golds and browns of the valleys and meadows in between. One can breathe the fresh mountain air and indulge in the pleasures of this magical wonderland.

Kerala

Backwaters Kerala

Kerala

Kerala's centuries-old, palm fringed and picture perfect backwaters and mirror still lagoons stretch over 1900 kms. Kerala lives along these backwaters. They snake over the land, bestowing paddy fields with good harvests, and provide the whole village with drinking water and other facilities. The backwaters refer to the large inland lakes of Kerala. Today these backwaters act as vital water ways for the transport of goods, people and produce. They are often the only link between remote, isolated villages and crowded town pockets. It's an incredible experience to float on these soothing waters in a country craft to absorb this unusual representation of Kerala.

Religion in India is a way of life. Though Hinduism is the dominant religion, Indians have learned to co-exist with people of other faiths. The ancient shlokas of the Hindu prayers, the aazaans of the Muslim prayers, the gurvani of the Sikhs, chanting of the Buddhist monks fill the skies simultaneously.

About 80 percent of the Indian people are Hindus, about 14 percent are Muslims. The next largest religious groups, are Christians (2.4%), Sikhs (2%), Buddhists (0.7%), Jains (0.5%) and the rest are Parsis and Jews. Religion plays a vital role in the Indian way of life. Religious laws of the Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs govern the people's clothing, food, and marriage etc.
