A German team will operate as VK9XW from Christmas Island between October 4 and 11, 2003 and as VK9CD from Cocos-Keeling between October 11 and 23, 2003. The operators DJ5IW, DM5TI, DL2RMC and DL8LAS will have three stations equipped with amplifiers, beams and verticals, all bands and modes.

We will be on the air on all possible modes and frequencies from 160m - 6m incl AO40 satellite operation. We take some 160 kg of radio gear with us - three complete HF stations with amplifiers, beams, verticals plus a satellite dish.
Low bands  (160m - 40m) CW, some SSB
30m CW
High bands (20m - 10m) CW, SSB, RTTY, SSTV and PSK31
6m CW, SSB
Satellite AO-40 CW, SSB and maybe a short SSTV activity
