QSL BUREAU

FOR THE
MEMBERSHIP OF THE WIA
INWARDS.
Cards from overseas and from other WIA Divisions,
arrive at irregular intervals and are sorted into callsign
alphabetical order and filed into the QSL boxes.
OUTWARDS.
Cards are collected from the Divisional Post Box,
unless they were posted or hand delivered
to the bureau manager's home address.
They are sorted into country order as per the DXCC Listing in the
Callbook.
It will assist this process if when the outgoing QSL card
is only printed on one side,
the callsign is printed on the top right hand corner of the card.
Please make sure that the U and V are distinctly different.
DEPOSIT/CREDIT with BUREAU.
To receive and send cards through the VK6 bureau
it is necessary to maintain a cash deposit.
This is used to pay for the sending of the incoming cards to you,
and debit a charge of 7.5 cents per outgoing card.
There is no longer the requirement of maintaining
self addressed stamped envelopes with the bureau.
This procedure has helped to reduce the effort of storing envelopes,
affixing extra stamps when the postal rate changes
and the envelope size not accepting the quantity of cards
that are being dispatched to the member.
When a packet of cards is sent, advice to the member
will indicate the cash balance held in the account.
The balance held is determined by each member.
Preferably when having QSL cards printed, have a
"standard size" and the weight under 3 grams each.
QSL cards received from JA and DL are a good example for size.
Most printers now have a great range of card weights and if under 3
gms,
it allows more cards to make up the economical posting packet weight.
