History
- First licenced as VO2AC in 1985 in Churchill Falls, Labrador (pop.~800).
- With the help of VO2CP (now VE3SJP), the only ham in town, I was given a provisional licence and was on the air for ~14 months (CW only) without ever writing an Amateur Radio exam.
- Entered the 1985 CQWW CW Contest, SO 20m. I made 333 QSOs with a straight key, a separate TX (SB-401) & RX (SX-111) and a dipole at 25 feet. I thought I'd set the world on fire! I've been hooked on contesting and DXing ever since.
- Passed the Advanced Amateur and 15 WPM CW exams in St. John's, NL in 1986.
- Licenced as VE3FU in 1997.
- Also licenced as VE2FUA.
