THE HAM STATION & THE OPERATOR
No, I don't have any state of the art hf rig. I own a honorable Kenwood TS-820S, and, after 20 years of use, it is still giving me lot of HF fun.
It have been stored for some years and is now back to action and is still working pretty well. Numerous of ham operators are still using this rugged rig, which is a classic.
It is actually transmitting throughout 20, 40 and 80 meters dipoles. May be a beam in the summer of 2004??? More pics to come late february.
I also own another classic of ham radio, a Yaesu FT-470 handheld.
I keep this radio very carefully. It have been very usefull to help evacuation of people living in Laterriere and L'Anse-St-Jean during the 1996 floodings that have occur in my area. It is, in a sense, a miniature piece of history and still working pretty well for me.
You sure found out yourselves that I had worked for the emergency radio system with numerous of hams of our area at this occasion.
I was born in 1968 and practice law in Chicoutimi. I got my licence in 1993 when I was 25 under callsign VE2TLH. I thank my spouse Karine and my son Benjamin for letting me have fun with my favorite hobby, make contacts on HF. To both of you, many thanks!
Since march 2004, holder of licence VA2SG.
I have been member of the Canadian ski patrol system for seven years, providing skiers and snowboarders at Le Valinouet and Mont-Edouard ski resorts first aid services. These two resorts are just great place for skiing and snowboarding.
