An Global Network of Gateway Stations providing the 
transfer of messages between the Internet and the Traveling Ham

WinLink 2000 is an Amateur Radio digital service that provides the automatic transfer of messages between Mobile Amateur Radio Operators World-wide and the Internet email System.  The Central Server for Internet email access between the Participating Mail Box BBS stations and Maritime, RV, or other remotely located Amateur Radio users, enables those traveling to maintain contact with family and friends, regardless of location.    Because of the enabling technology employed, each station has a mirror image of the entire message database.   Therefore, WinLink 2000 provides the mobile user the ability to pickup or deliver email from any of the Participating Shore Stations, called Participating Mail Box BBS stations or "PMBOs.".    With any Amateur Radio service, certain Restrictions Apply.

Obtaining an Amateur Radio General Class License to use the service has never been more accessible.  RV clubs, Cruising organizations and the American Radio Relay League make the process simple.   Obtaining such a license allows the user to enjoy much more than just digital email.  Much socialization and added communications benefits contribute greatly to the traveling adventure.  The latest technologies are employed and best of all, there are NO FEES!
