Texas Adventist Emergency Communications Newsletter
Issue 1 Volume 1

Dear Members,
Hello all!! First off, since this is the first issue of the newsletter, I would like to take the time to welcome each of yall onto the list and if you have any suggestions on addition or other things that you think should be on here please send them to [email protected]. Now, all the sections that are one this list will more or less be the same on all of them. First there will be a greeting and announcements, followed by calendar reminders, followed by a list of websites, and last but not least, if anyone that I know of has a radio for sale, or wants one, there will be a listing at the bottom. Now onto the newsletter...

Message from the President:
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We had a good day! All the kids and grandkids were at home. Violet's sister and her family were down from Missouri for Thanksgiving/Christmas, so we had a real good time. We had my Dad with us and we were so thankful that he was able to attend, because he has had a bad year. He had a knee replacement done, then fell and broke his hip and was in the hospital for another 7 weeks, but now he is home and doing exceptionally well. He is getting around real good and even driving.

We want to update you on our club this year. We have 14 new technician licenses and 1 novice licensee this year, to last years 8; So we are making some progress. We also helped out on loading and unloading trucks for flood disaster. We are looking forward to a real good year in 1999.

We will be having a morse code class stating in January of 99 and also keep in mind Skywarn class on January 19th, I believe. We will have further information on that later on. Also, the 443.125 repeater now has a 110.9 tone on it, so please set your radios accordingly. If you need any assistance with this or your radio doesn't have tones built into, please call us at 645-8146 or email us at [email protected]

We want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Sincerely,
Gerald, Violet & Curtis
