2012 Field Day

Field Day 2012 was held on Saturday, 23 Jun 11 at 1000 Local, when set up began, and ends on Sunday, 24 Jun 11 at 1400 Local at Park View High School in Sterling, VA.


Field Day Results
Our results from field day in 2012 are:


   2012   overall ranking was     100  of  2,617 entries with 8,178 points and 2,150 QSOs

And we were:
  10 overall in 4A
  9th overall in Roanoke Section
  5th overall in Virginia.

Dick, W2YE, submitted our entry.  We did well. I believe we have a total of  8,178 points.

The Loudoun Times-Mirror Article
Loudoun Times-Mirror wrote a nice article about Loudoun Amateur Radio Group (LARG) and us on 26 June 2012.

The Plan
21 June 12: Put RTTY as a separate demonstration station.  13 June 12: Also added operators for times not otherwise covered. 18 June 12:  Revised plan  (in PDF  and in MSWord .docx) is available for review and comment based upon the discussion at the May and June Club Meetings (including Jim, KF4PQL; and Don, K7CS, suggestions on new layout for the new location this year.  

A Goal
In order to move up in the rankings based upon last year's log entries:

  Another 1000 points moves us to a ranking of 44
  Another 2000 points moves us to a ranking of  35
  Doubling our score moves us to a ranking of  4

We have made continuous improvement over the years.

   2011   overall ranking was     60  of  2,632 entries with 10,054 points and 2,797 QSOs
   2010   overall ranking was     84  of  2,617  entries with  8,372 points and 2,120 QSOs
   2009   overall ranking was     90  of  2,612  entries with  8,210 points and 2,217 QSOs
   2008   overall ranking was   112  of  2,409  entries with  7,000 points and 1,922 QSOs 
   2007   overall ranking was   184  of  2,333  entries with  5,846 points and 1,403 QSOs
   2006   overall ranking was   210  of  2,184  entries with  5,554 points and 1,327 QSOs 
   2005   overall ranking was   242  of  2,202  entries with  5,126 points and 1,330 QSOs
   2004   overall ranking was   262  of  2,250  entries with  5,042 points and 1,236 QSOs
   2003   overall ranking was   589  of  2,085  entries with  2,748 points and    715 QSOs
   2002   overall ranking was   367  of  2,100  entries with  4,452 points and 1,280 QSOs


And we were:
  10 overall in 3A
  6th overall in Roanoke Section
  4th overall in Virginia.
