SACHSE RACES NEEDS YOUR HELP! WE NEED GOOD AMATEURS FOR ASSISTANT RACES OFFICER POSITIONS! CONTACT US AT [email protected] IF INTERESTED IN A CHALLENGE!

Welcome!

Welcome to the home page for Sachse Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services.  Take a look at What's New on our web site.

Sachse Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services was established to provide auxiliary communications to city services in the event of an emergency.  R.A.C.E.S. volunteers also participate in SKYWARN exercises, relaying vital severe weather data to the city, Dallas County, and the National Weather Service.  Members of Sachse R.A.C.E.S. also serve as members of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services of the A.R.R.L., an acronym for the Amateur Radio Relay League.

What's New

Since the conception of the organization in the late winter/early spring of 2002, many exciting things are happening.  We will try to keep you posted with news items that might be of interest to you as well as our membership.  The most recent news items are listed first.

May 2002

New Emergency Operations Center is operational and undergoing final completion in the newly renovated Police Department Communications Center.
Sachse R.A.C.E.S. needs dedicated amateurs for Assistant Radio Officer positions such as Net Control, Alternate Net Control, Training Officer, and others!  Please contact us if you are interested!
Equipment donations would be very much appreciated.  We could use HF equipment, a digital soundcard interface, and most importantly a weather station.
