This
is a simple tribute we make to our fellow amateurs who were killed in the
terrorist attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. More than 90 days of the
great tragedy that befell the American people, a list of missing this attack
was prepared, having been proven that more than 5,000 people are missing, are
people born in over 100 different countries, but the vast majority It is
American.
As
previously mentioned, this also confirmed that 07 radio amateurs are among the
many killed in the terrorist attacks of the day September 11, 2001 on the
World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
Along with the 110-story Twin Towers, several buildings around were destroyed
or seriously damaged, including buildings 3-7 of the World Trade complex and
the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. The North Tower, South Tower, the
Marriott Hotel (WTC-3) and the WTC-7 were completely destroyed. The US Customs
located in WTC-6, 4-WTC, WTC-5:02 pedestrian bridges linking the buildings
were severely damaged. The Deutsche Bank Building, located on Liberty Street
and that was part of the World Trade Center complex was later condemned and
destroyed because of toxic conditions inside the office tower. The Fiterman
Hall, Borough of Manhattan Community College, located at 30 West Broadway, was
condemned due to the damage in the attack and is being rebuilt. Other
neighboring buildings, the 90 West Street and the Verizon Building suffered
major damage, but were restored. The World Financial Center buildings, One
Liberty Plaza, the Millennium Hilton and 90 Church Street had moderate damage
and have also been restored.
All
telecommunications equipment located at the top of the North Tower and among
them the tower of television and a radio transmitter were destroyed, but
quickly TV stations, Radio, Media and Internet were able to redirect their
signals and resume broadcasts.
The Pentagon was severely damaged by the impact of Flight 77, American
Airlines and subsequent fires, causing the collapse of one of the building
sections. As you approach the Pentagon, the wings of the plane downed light
poles and its right engine broke a generator before falling on the west side
of the building, killing all 53 passengers and five hijackers and 6 crew
members. The plane hit the Pentagon at first floor level. The front fuselage
disintegrated during impact, while the central section and the tail is
maintained in movement for a fraction of a second. Debris from the tail
penetrated deeper into the building, breaking by 94 meters, three of the five
most outer rings of the building.

A
special financial fund was established to help the families of missing hams in
Word Trade Center.
