3. About nick-names
As you understand some of ourYL-operators have the same names. For example here are 22 YLs with a name Elena, 17 YLs have a name Natalia and so on.
In order to prevent a possible confusion during QSO every of our YLs has her air nick-name. This nick-name is unique in our club. Nobody else of RZ9MYL-operators may use the same name on the air.
However YL-newcomer may use her original name on the air if nobody used this name for an year before.
This system gives you a possibility easily to define who is who on the air. Of course you may learn an original name of that operator whom you had a QSO with, but NOT ON the AIR. In order to prevent a possible confusion our YLs are not allowed to name their original names if these names differ from their air nick- names. You may learn the original name of your RZ9MYL's correspondent from her letter, by telephone, via e-mail, but NOT ON the AIR.
IF you already know the original name of your YL pen-friend and you'd like to get an information about this RZ9MYL's operator or to pass some INFO to her, please name her ON AIR just by her air nick-name in order to prevent a possible confusion.
Our YLs are keen on writing letters and e-mails so they are very glad if they receive even short letters from their friends but not only QSL-cards. They are really happy if return postage is enclosed, because it’s very hard for them to send a return letter for their own – so small their stipendium is.
