Most Worked Pacific Northwest Grids (Annual Award)

Awarded annually by the Pacific Northwest VHF Society (PNWVHFS) to the amateur that works the most Pacific Northwest grid-squares.  The purpose of this award is to foster activity within the weak-signal portions of the amateur VHF and higher bands in the Pacific Northwest.  All amateur operators are eligible for this award.

Eligible grids are those grids that are at least partially within the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and within the province of British Columbia.  Eligible frequencies are amateur bands 50 MHz and higher.  Eligible modes are all allowed weak-signal modes for that band including digital modes.  FM is not a weak-signal mode.  Use of man-made satellites, repeaters, linear translators, etc. are not allowed.   Cross-band contacts are not allowed.

Award classes: Effective 01 January 2003 this is a single class award. In the case of ties, duplicate awards will be given.

To be eligible for this award, all contacts must have taken place between 00:01 UTC 01 January and 23:59 UTC 31 December of each calendar year.  Logs in standard ARRL format must be submitted to the PNWVHFS by 01 March of the following calendar year. Electronic logs are allowed and encouraged.  The awards will be presented each year at the annual meeting of the PNWVHFS.

The PNWVHFS Award committee reserves the right to issue awards only for those bands where significant competition existed as evidenced by submitted logs (3 or more logs must be submitted).

Most Pacific Northwest Grids Operated From (Annual Award)

Awarded annually by the Pacific Northwest VHF Society (PNWVHFS) to the amateur that operates from the most Pacific Northwest grid-squares. The purpose of this award is to foster rover-type activity within the weak-signal portions of the amateur VHF and higher bands in the Pacific Northwest. All amateur operators are eligible for this award.

Eligible grids are those grids that are at least partially within the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and within the province of British Columbia.  All-water grids are eligible as long as they reside, at least in part, within the territorial waters adjacent to Washington, Oregon or British Columbia as defined by International Maritime Law.

Award classes: Rover, Fixed Portable Operation and Mixed (where contacts for both rover and fixed operations are claimed for credit).  In the case of Two-Operator Rovers, each operator will receive the award.  To be claimed as a Two-Operator team, both team members must have operated as a team for all claimed contacts.

A "running score" page will be added to the PNWVHFS website once reports start coming in.  Reports should be submitted on a regular basis to [email protected] by all that wish to be in the running for this award.

The PNWVHFS Award committee reserves the right to issue awards only when significant competition existed as evidenced by submitted logs (3 or more logs must be submitted for each class).
