      sent along a note regarding   some    telemetry transmissions from a
      Spanish satellite "INTASAT" (which was Launched along with Oscar 7
      last fall). Though not personally heard, the signals on 40.010 and
      41.010 MHz might be present 10-15 minutes during favorable passes
      of its 90-minute orbit.

      Paul Petosky in MI sent additional information on KIG 66, 162.55 MHz,
      Marquette. This NOAA weather station employs a special tone-alert
      system with a 1050 Hz for 3-5 seconds to activate specially equipped
      receivers so that severe weather messages will be noticed; weekday noon
      tests of the system are conducted, except when conditions have a weather
      warning in progress or imminent.
