CQ Contest...CQ Contest....CQ Contest......NX9T...November Xray Nine Tango.....***Like the Chihuahua---my station is a small pup in a world of large dogs--- but I try to make a lot of noise!!!

One of the most exciting and challenging aspects of amateur radio is "contesting". The contests are an opportunity to compete alongside hundreds of others throughout the world just like in other sporting events. I especially enjoy major international (DX) contests and several of the domestic competitions such as Sweepstakes, N.A. QSO Party, and the Sprint. I am a member of the PVRC contesting club.

I split my operating time between SSB(voice) and CW(morse code). I generally operate by myself (single operator) from my own station but am looking forward to the day when I might be able to do some father/son multi-operator radio sporting!

I also have a great appreciation for the fine group of folks who make up the Society of Midwest Contesters. Over the last several years, they have built an extremely competitive contesting club and have amazed many with there ability to encourage, motivate, and propel radio contesting. Although I moved out of the "mid-west" years ago, they continue to extend the hand of friendship to me and go as far as to invite me to "play" on their teams from time to time in contests. If you live in the mid-west and have any interest in radio sporting at all, do yourself a favor...check them out!
