Software & Utilities

1. ci5.exe  CI-5 Interface Software, v3.0 (DOS, Win 3.1, Win 95, Win 98)
• Utility for sending commands to devices that use the CI-V or CI-5 communication protocol.  Allows you to send one command at a time in hexadecimal format, and returns the response code from the device in hexadecimal format.  Useful for diagnostics, and testing.

• Utility for downloading frequencies from the Xplorer's memories into your computer.  Program creates a text file that can be used to import frequencies into scanning programs.

5. os535.exe  OS535 Test Program, v1.0 (DOS, Win 3.1, Win 95, Win 98)
• This is the test utility for the OptoScan 535 board.  It allows you to enter one frequency, to make sure the Optoscan board is working properly.

• his is the test utility for the OptoScan 456 and 456 Lite boards.  It allows you to enter one frequency, to make sure the OptoScan board is working properly.
7. optocom.prc  OptoCom Control Program for Palm Pilot, v1.0 (Palm Pilot Professional)
   • This is a small control program which was written for the Palm Pilot Professional, to allow it to control the OptoCom, while it is in Store and Scan mode.  It downloads all the frequencies from the OptoCom into memory, and then scans them, allowing lockout, and skip functions.  It does not allow you to store anything in either the OptoCom's memories, or in the Palm Pilot.  This software was written with the hope that someone out there will like the idea, and expand upon it.  The source code is available upon request.  Note: This program was only tested on the Professional model.  It should work on other models, but at this time that is not known.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

• This is the control program that comes with the ComCounter.  You must have a ComcOunter installed in your OptoCom to use this program.

   • This is the control/checkout utility that comes with the OptoCom.  Although it will run under Windows, it is best to use this program in DOS mode.  If you are a software developer, the source code is available here.
