School poetry

Poetry by Eric Reinhold

School is fun

School is fun,
It's a big black gun.
Aimed at your head,
Gonna shoot you dead.
It asks "Russian Roulette?"
And makes you say "You bet!"
And if you don't pass
That little test packet.
Well, then right fast,
You'll be in a straightjacket.
Oh yeah,
I love school.

School is Great

School is great
like a cheap paper plate,
piled high with food,
when you start to eat
dumps it in your lap.

Each morning you get up
and face that great brick building.
The halls extend forever,
classes are eternity.

What will you be, School,
when your halls are
empty of children?
When the halls echo with silence
and the teacher's seat is bare.
I know where I will be
during that glorious vacation.
On the beach, basking
and laughing, laughing
at the times spent
within your walls.
