Location: Neilton Peak is in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains
just above the town of Neilton, WA. It overlooks Lake Quinault and has
a clear view from northwest through west to south at western
Grays Harbor County.
Coverage: The Neilton repeater covers Highway 101
and the coastal plain west of the Olympics from the Grays Harbor
County line at the north, to Ocean Shores and almost to Hoquiam on the south.

Part of the
BeachNet
system, this repeater serves those traveling on Highway 101 north of Hoquiam
and adjacent areas along the coast, while within Grays Harbor County. It also provides
Emergency Communications for those living in this sparsely populated
area.
During an emergency, this repeater will probably be
connected to the Minot repeater, as will the other Grays Harbor County
repeaters, to allow
communications within the county. This repeater is directly
accessible from the Grays Harbor EOC in Montesano.
Hardware: The repeater equipment
consists of
a GE
Mastr-II 110-watt continuous duty
base station (running 75-watts)
with a CAT-200B controller. The duplexer is a Sinclair BpBr 4-cavity
type feeding a Comet X300N (9.0dB UHF / 6.5dB VHF)
dual band antenna through 30 feet of LMR-400
half-inch coax. This antenna is shared with the packet station.
The packet
station includes a bandpass cavity.
There is a UHF GE Rangr mobile link transceiver
with a DCI-filter feeding a tower-mounted yagi antenna
at 60-feet.
Power for the station is taken from the
main station battery which backs-up the entire
site, with generator power available should the
mains power fail.
Packet Radio: The "NEILTN" packet
radio node is located on
this site.
This is
part of the 145.630 MHz
1200-Baud Washington District Three
EOC Packet Network. The packet station is owned
by N7UJK as part of the Grays Harbor Auxiliary
Emergency Communications system.
