Mid Lanark Amateur Radio Society


The MID LANARK AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY ( MLARS ) which meets at 7.30 pm every Friday in the Community Centre, High Street, Newarthill

( Between Motherwell & Airdrie ) and visitors are most welcome.

The Mid Lanark club has two fully fitted out radio shacks, each with their own callsign ~


The HF shack ( GM3PXK ) has a Yeasu FT- 920 rig linked to a 3 Element

yagi for 10, 15 & 20m, up about 20m AGL, a R7000 vertical for

10 thro' 80m, a full size G5RV, 4 element yagi for 6m

and a 12 foot diameter loop for top band.

( The aerials need a little repair work after the recent gales. )


The VHF shack ( GM1XOI ) has an ICOM IC-821 rig ( 2m & 70cm ) with

100 Watt BNOS (2m) linear amp linked to a 10 element crossed yagi

for 2m and a 48 Element Para Beam for 70cm

Plus a Watson collinear for 2m & 70cm FM.


Both shacks are equipped with PC's for SSTV, Packet, DX Cluster,

Logging & other Amateur Radio software programmes.
