Tom M1EYP on Wapley Hill        Forestry Commission sign

From Bradnor Hill G/WB-011, we drove north-eastwards on the B4355, through Titley, and then on minor roads through Stansbatch.  We found the Forestry Commission car park and picnic area at SO 358 621, and wasted no time in setting off for the summit.  The forest tracks linked up with the Mortimer Trail, which in turn led us to the ramparts of the medieval fort at the summit.  We found a suitable spot atop one of these steep-sided earthworks and set up the station.

Again, the contacts did not come quickly, but at least we were down to half-an-hour!  Many thanks to the following stations, all worked on 2m FM with 2.5 watts:

G3RMD Cheltenham Frank T, J
M3NPC Tenbury Wells Neil T, J
M0CCL/M Severn Bridge Kevin T
MW0CCL/M Severn Bridge Kevin J
M3BYA Bayton Dave T, J

Our return to the car park was greeted with loose dogs running at us and barking aggressively.  I offered one or two opinions to their owners and loaded the car ready for our fifth and final hill of the day - Shobdon Hill G/WB-017.
