LA County Board of Supervisors Recognizes Amateur Radio


Proclamation given at the June 28, 2016 County Board of Supervisors meeting to the American Radio Relay League on behalf of all  amateur radio operators involved with emergency communication throughout the county.  The Supervisors, led by Supervisor Sheila Kuehl (3rd District) proclaimed June to be "Amateur Radio Month in Los Angeles County" following last weekend's Field Day while recognizing the year-round efforts of groups such as DCS. Operators associated with the Sheriff's Department are specifically cited in the proclamation text.

Our DCO AI6DF who is also the ARRL LAX Section Manager accepted this proclamation on behalf of all operators in L.A. County as well as representing DCS.  Staff 01 Sgt. Garcia was present in the audience.  Marty Woll, N6VI, the ARRL Vice Director for the Southwestern Division and Training Officer for City of Los Angeles ACS, and Dr. Kate Hutton, K6HTN, who heads the ARRL LAX Section's National Traffic System operations also expressed their appreciation.
