Amateur Radio

I started in Amateur Radio by first listening to Short Wave with a Yaesu FT-757GXII. Till I received my first License back in 1999. Since then I have made General with HF privileges. I enjoy many of the modes from the KC2EUK Station.

I work mostly in the mode of phone. But I have tinkered around with digital such as PSK31 and CW with a CT-22. I seem to send better than I can copy, but with help and encouragement from a good friend of mine, AB2CJ, I learnt a lot in all aspects of ham radio. Check out his web site at: AB2CJ's Amateur Radio Page. There you will find all kinds of goodies to keep you busy. In the true sense of the word, AB2CJ has been a great help to a group of us here in the New York area. My hat's off to ya AB'. Thanks for all the help!

Up to till today 2/26/02, I have been looking into finding what my grandfather's

Felix Ghirlando callsign was, before becoming a silent key in 1955.

Today I recieved an email from ARRL's John C. Hennessee, N1KB; Regulatory Information Specialist, Field and Educational Services Department, with news that he found the call in a pass issue of QST.

My special thanks to the League and Mr. Hennessee.

Now the plan is to apply for the call as my own. As a Vanity Call.
