2019

On September 2, 2019, Bob McCaffery passed way. He was the force behind building up BARK in the 1990's and continued to provide leadership over the years. He was well loved and we will miss him.

2017

Congratulations are due to Nicklas Standfest for passing his technician license exam. He is 9 years old. His call is KEØMRM.

Iowa Section of the ARRL Convention will be held at Hamboree on May 13 at the Boone County fairgrounds in Boone. The 3900 Club board will need help setting up and tearing down before and after Hamboree. If you want to help, contact Clay, WØFS.

2016

It is with sadness that I report that KDØGFN, Karen Huffman, Steve's (NØNEU) wife, passed away this summer.

2015

Sadly, WAØNOV, Jim Gates, Jr. passed away this year. It has been a rough few years for the Gates family.

2013

Congratulations to KØCY, Bob McCaffrey. Bob became the new ARRL Iowa Section Manager on April 1, 2013.

2012

On November 17th, we were sad to hear that long time Boone ham, WØTYY, Jim Gates, had passed away. Jim was Ed George's father-in-law and was known for the amplifiers that he built. Our sympathies go out to the Gates family for their losses.

We were also sorry to hear that long time BARK member, KAØNII, Ed George, passed away on July 6th. Our sympathies go to the family.

KØGVN and his wife were killed as the result of a car accident on Saturday, June 16th.
Our condolences go out to the family. We will miss him.
