K6TPL Portland Oregon 1960

This is the station that I wish that I had to day!  The Radio in the upper left is a WRL Duo Bander. It was a very small Mobil rig for it's time. I used it in the car until it was stolen. In the middle upper is a Knight Transmitter CW only and it vanished somewhere along my life's path. Upper left is a home brew KW that used a 4-400's The Amp was built for me by Mike Cooley WA7AUA,  when I moved to Seattle and rented out the house in Vancouver it was stored in the garage and the guy who was renting the house sold it in a garage sale for $20.00. That was rather traumatic for me as to this day I haven't been able to replace it. The radio on the lower left is a Heathkit Apache that I built when I was about 18 years old and it was a great Radio, when I first plugged it in the B plus shorted to ground and I thought my radio and my life had just ended! But it didn't and the guy at the local TV repair shop who was a amateur himself fixed for me. The Apache served me well until things on the Ham Band started to sound like Donald Duck, Side Band had come, Central was the rig most people used. I bought the SB-10 and built it and it worked the first time that I plugged it in, learning to tune the Apache and SB 10 took some time but with this radio set up I made many friends and enjoyed what was one of the best Solar cycles that has ever been. I also made and kept many friends, This time and me with this Radio set, Was the Golden Time in my Ham Radio life. I was active with a group that met on 75 meters called STARPIT "Society of Amateur Radio philosophers Intellectuals and Trafficers.
