More progress!!
The following is a mock-up using the "short bolt" that I cut off of the donated lead screw.
I spent my weekend attaching the lower part of the hinge to the bottom plate. The basic theory is as follows...
When you turn the lead screw clockwise the nuts close on each other... closing the hinge and raising the tower to a vertical position. Turn the lead screw counter-clockwise and the hinge opens, placing the tower in a horizontal position. Pay attention to loads placed on the individual components... a potentially expensive math error.
As always... "da-Boyz" waz around to lend morale support.
All that is left to do is to hang the gear motor, after I design a bracket and
we are ready for testing!!!
