51.860 Repeater |
 |
This repeater is operational and works as a
split site repeater. The Receiver and remote link transmitter
(uhf linked) are located at the ATC tower site
near Mastins Corner (pictured at L) with an antenna at 275 ft while
the transmitter is at Spotsylvania Courthouse (8mi SW of
Fredericksburg, Va).
The transmitter is located on a 130 foot water tower (located 10
miles apart). It is a split site system with a link between the
transmitter site and the receiver site. The transmit antenna just
went up on this new site 1-11-02 and it has great coverage from
Richmond to Northern Virginia to Maryland.

To the Left is W1ZFB working on the 6 meter transmitter and uhf
repeater link that connects it to the ATC site where the receiver is
located. You can also see the racks for the county 800 mhz radio
system. |
Here is a picture of the Micor 6m transmitter on top, back-up
transmitter below that, the uhf receiver below that. Then the
controller and power supply on the bottom.
This radio is also hard wired to the county EOC (emerg operations
center) which is across the street which gives us great 6 meter
coverage around the state. |
