The Kentucky Mountains ARC has sponsored a Special Events Station
with the call KF4SJO at the annual Black Gold Festival since 1995.
The station started out at the fire station for a couple of years, then
moved down to the Picnic Shelter near City Hall. Pretty good results
and lots of fun were had, except for the year it rained all day and the
rig died shortly after the beginningof the operation. A special
certificate has been awarded to stations contacted at the event.
The Kentucky Mountains Amateur Radio Club sponsored a Special Events Station commemorating the first Lunar DXPedition by traveling to to the village of Moon, Kentucky with the call KF4SJO on Saturday, October 10, 1998. The station will operated on mainly 40and 20 meters. A special QSL was awarded to stations contacted at the event.
