N6NO writes on 7/20/04:

I came across another W2DSC memoir in those dusty archives of mine - a 1958 QSL from W2DSC, operated by another long lost club member, Stan Teich, K2IRS.  I believe he was a CW traffic handler (like me) and probably overlapped me in attendance.  The QSL was for a QSO I had with him while he was at W2DSC and I was at my home station, W2JOA.  I remember I had wanted a real QSL from W2DSC and made a sked with him for it. The note on it says "Well! You finally have a "legal" one!"  That statement turned out to be quite prophetic, because his bio in QRZ.COM says he became a lawyer.  I found another note saying he had continued the traffic activity I had started, earning W2DSC a continuing appointment as "Official Relay Station".

Another interesting piece of information from the QSL is the equipment in use then: Collins 75A1 receiver, B&W 5100 transmitter, and an 80 meter dipole.

Since I'm leaving town tomorrow for a week, I decided to scan the aforementioned QSL of K2IRS for you tonight.  Here's the reverse side (attached).  The front of the card is the same as the one you already have on the web.  Ah, those days!  Note the postage was just 2 cents and Stan had to use two 1-cent stamps because I bet it had recently gone up from being a "penny postcard".  Anyway, I hope this may help you round up another Alumni member.
