Honda ST1300 SwitchBack LEDs
The ST1300 uses #7443 dual filament incadescent bulbs for turn signal lamps. The front are used as "running" lamps as well as turn signals. In the rear both elements are used as turn signals. "Switchback" lamps are LEDs that have the unique ability to light up in two colors. For the ST, the initial color is white and the turn signal is amber. Installing clear lenses in the mirrors allows the swithcbacks to act as additional road lights, switching back to amber when a turn signal is called for. It takes a second or so for the light to switch colors.
In order to use the LEDs properly, the factory flasher unit needs to be changed from a mechanical type to an electronic one. Because of the much lower current demand of the LEDs, the mechanical flasher goes into a "hyper" flash that normally indicates to the rider that you have lost a bulb. The flasher is behind the left side body panel, next to the center stand handle.
The LEDs I chose came from Amazon. I used iBrightstar LED bulbs earlier when I changed out the brake lights. Those bulbs are still working fine so why not use the same iBrightstar brand again. Searching 7443 LED anywhere on the web will lead you to a host of vendors. The IBrightstar brand is Amazon exclusive that has one feature and that's a one year warranty.
The installtion is as plug and play as it gets. Pop the mirrors off the bike. A counter-clockwise turn of the bulb sockets will pop them out of the lens. Use a phillips screwdriver to swap the lense. The LED plugs into the socket just like the original bulb. Pop the new bulb and socket into the clear lens and with a quarter clockwise turn, they are in. The rear turn signals are a PITA due to their location at the far rear ends of the bike. Access the bulb sockets by removing the seats. The sockets are the same twist counter-clockwise and pop out.

Ebay has more than a few vendors selling clear lenes.
Such great quality.... the standard bulb wouldn't even fit until the plastic was trimmed with a Xacto.
The SS relay is a two pin version
The Flasher relay is in the very far right rear. Pulling the first two relays out makes it all easier.
Insert the pigtail of the SS relay into the harness.
Take the mouting bushing off the OEM and use it on the New SS relay.
The new SS relay
is all tucked in.
Almost everyone back in their spot.

With one switched out, the difference is amazing. LED road lights are under the mirrors.
