Honda ST1300 Parking "peanut" bulbs
The ST1300 uses two #194 incadescent bulbs in the headlight assembly. Honda calls them parking lamps. I have no idea as to why. In their stock configuration, they are useless. My guess is that the intention was to spice up the front end somehow or mayb there is a DOT requirement.... Bottom line is they suck. I have wanted to change them out since getting the bike but have just been too lazy.
I ordered my replacement brake light LEDs from Amazon and have been happy with the perfomance so far. With that experience in the books. I found iBrightStar "brand" #194 bulbs on Amazon and had them in hand two days later.
The only thing to pay attention to when ordering from Amazon is that you don't select the wrong bulb accidentally. You want the #194 "white" bulb!

To make accessing the bulbs easier, I'd suggest removing the inside fairing panels located to the left and right of the front wheel. It takes all of five minutes to remove the one phillips head screw and a handful of plastic "pop" rivets to get the panels to drop out of the way. There are two special flush mount pop rivets at the very top of each panel, just to the sides of the triple tree. They need their center to be pushed in and them they can be removed via a fingernail. Left side (facing the bike) inner plastic panel has the outside air temp sensor connected to it. There is a small connector that needs to be squeezed to pop it free.
The bulbs are held in place by nothing more than the friction of the rubber mounting socket to the hole in the headlight assembly. Tugging on the back side of the socket will pop them free. It helps if you have a small set of hands to get a hold of the socket while removing the original bulb. The same goes for the reversal. It's about as easy of a modification as you can ask for.
When reinstalling the panels, it helps to have another body make sure the top of the panel lines up behind the lip of the storage pockets as it is inserted back into the bike. Kinda sucks to have all the fasteners installed all but the last two only to find that you need to take them all out again.

The only problem that will arise after doing this change is that you will absolutely want to change out the halogen bulbs to LEDs too!
