DMR Talk Groups And Information

This page will have some of the most popular DMR talk groups that you might like. Like any mode, ALWAYS practice good etiquette when on the air. Just remember, you DO NOT, nor does anyone else own the airwaves. If you know of any other talk groups that others may like please submit them here.

NOTES:

When using the PARROT or the DISCONNECT, it varies from network to network. On BrandMeister, the Parrot is 9990 and Disconnect is 4000. When using other networks, they may different. When using other networks besides BrandMeister, you will need to add a prefix to the talk group so the hot spot knows how to direct the talk group through the Internet. You may download the prefixes here.

Also, it is good practice, (and will keep you on other people's good side), if you want to test you audio, to use the network's parrot, (If it has one), instead of asking for a radio check. If the network does not have a parrot or audio check talk group, then you actually have no choice then to ask for a radio check within a talk group.

Good radio practice, and will make everyone happy, is when you are wanting to check your audio, use  any of the parrots. The way the Parrot works, is whatever you say, and way you say it, is repeated back EXACTLY as you say it. Many times people use a talk group to check their radio and that interferes with a QSO in progress or won't let another station answer when they are being called.
