Welcome to the Talkgroups and Etiquette page. This page will show some
popular talkgroups and talk about etiquette you should practice while
on them. All talkgroups can be accessed by using your DMR radio, but at
times, depending on what type of radio you are using, you might need to
put some prefixes in front of the TG number to 'tell' the hotspot where
to 'go' when you key up and go through the Internet.
Talkgroups are another name from rooms, or channels. Some
modes use another term is called reflectors, that term is
usually
used on DMR+, YSF, P25, XLX and NXDN. Most other
talkgroups just use
the term TALKGROUP. You can find a list of talkgroups and reflectors here.
If you are looking for a DMR radio, click here and you can see what is
out there. Another place is eBay or Amazon.
Before you use DMR, like stated on the Radio Programing
page, you will need a DMR ID. Click the logo if you need one.
There are many talkgroups out
there. It all depends on what you are
interested in. The most common, (and the most busy), is BrandMeister TG
91. There are talkgroups just for certain things, like for different
countries, hobbies, crossovers to othere modes. If you are using a DMR
Vradio, youi will need the prefixes to tell the radio how to go through
the Interbnet to reach the desired talkgroup.
